Usually the people you grow up with or work with everyday become your best friends. What if you never kept in contact with those childhood friends. What if you don't like the people you work with? How do you find a good friend, or friends?

I totally agree with above answers. Plus i have experienced similar thoughts of looking for a good friend and what i had in mind for a good friend did not seem to come along. instead you meet different and cool people to just hang out with. since it is hard to find a friend that will be there for you for life, the next best thing is to be open minded and just meet people. but i think true friends come when you least expect it. im still searching for mine.

I spent many years moving around with the military and have learned that friendships come and go very easily. Those rare gems that you find to keep in touch with are hard to come by. People as a rule change so much over a period of time and seem to "out grow" each other. I would focus more on just having someone to hang out with and not so much on the fact that you want a "good" friend. Those come when you least expect it. Good luck!

Good question. Friends are very hard to come by. I have 5 good friends and the rest are associates. I think if you want to find good friends, you probably need to join some organizations that you are interested in to find people that are of "like mind".
