I mean, for the entire seaon we had to hear about how Wisconsin played nobodys. But then, they proved they can beat good teams by winning at the Capital One Bowl. I went to the game. It was an unimpressive win, but a win nonetheless. 12-1 ain't bad. Where do you think they will land in the final rankings?

Remember that Wisconsin's defense was strong all year long. Very strong. And when Arkansas started to gain momentum at the end of the game, the Wisconsin defense stifled them. They proved once again how good they are when it comes down to crunch time. So no, Arkansas wasn't the better team. Wisconsin had an off day and still beat Arkansas.

People tend to conveniently forget how good Wisconsin's defense is under pressure. Anything to discredit the most underranked team in the nation. Underranked year after year after year. Only thee Playboy preseason poll gives them respect every year. Nobody else does.

This may be a homer comment but I am sick of Wisconsin teams being underrated in both football and basketball. Every year (you start checking every year) they are not rated in the preseason polls. At the end of the year they are ranked, and usually pretty high. It is ridiculous. Maybe penalties were different but PJ Hill didnt even get started. We won w/o our strengths. And our coach discaplines them into fewer penalties. We shoudl have had a BCS birth but you cant have 3 teams from the same conference

how do i feel....hmm....if you want to know what real defense is check out the tape or replay of the game between auburn and lsu this year. and let's not forget what arkansas did to my war eagles either - however usc spanked arkansas before losing to a marginal ucla team. i also feel very strongly about the fact that the big ten has no playoff game or league championship credentials to bring to the post season. and it aint just the big ten, it's most conferences. so there's a whole new topic for conversation right there.
i watched the game and it really looked like there was no better team playing that day. but as to who had the tougher season and schedule we all know that answer w/o even having to say it.
as to the badgers and them being shunned from preseason rankings and whatnot, preseason means absolutely nothing. however, when we went 12-0 a couple of years ago and were left out of the title game some believed it was because we had so many steps on the ladder to climb, having not been rated in the top ten preseason.
if wisconsin starts scheduling some better out of conference teams and wins those games i feel strongly that it will boost their rankings and get them more attention earlier in the season, which would of course result in a higher ranking than if you have this year's schedule for example.
and lastly, i have mixed feelings about saban accepting the job at bama. one thing for sure tho - it will make the conference as a whole better which is a really scary thought, and recruits they will come!

Let me analyze it for you. Wisconsin played a very good game. Arkansas played a terrible game. And Arkansas nearly won.
Wisconsin's offense executed very well for their level of ability and yet was totally shut down in the 2nd half, with negative yards.
Arkansas' offense played brilliantly in spurts, but the team suffered form very poor play calling most of the time and had constant stupid penalties.
So yeah you won fair and square, but Arkansas is a better team cursed with an incompetent QB and a stupid coach. The same factors caused Arkansas to lose its final two SEC games before this bowl -- UA finished with 3 consecutive losses -- so don't get too puffed up about Wisconsin being better than the SEC.
Well you asked how I felt!

Arkansas had like 120 penalty yards.
Wisconsin played the whole game with 8 and 9 guys in the box and Arkansas could not attack their secondary.
Arkansas had almost twice as many total yards as Wisconsin and Wisconsin had negative 5 total rushing yards.
I don't know if Wisconsin won that game, but rather Arkansas lost it. Maybe the worst bowl game of the year.

I disagree w/ the guy that said the SEC is overrated. Definitely not. They are notoriously faster than any other conference and normally beat each other up in the regular season. Having said that, the Big 10 conference is packed with powerhouses. Not as fast as the SEC but bigger and more powerful. I think Wisconsin got lucky in the bowl game against a not so great SEC team who happened to get lucky in the regular season. Wisconsin should probably end up somewhere around 10th to 15th in my opinion.

Wisconsin's pretty good, and Arkansas was more lucky than good this year. They made the SEC championship, but they really weren't any better than Tennessee, and had less talent than Florida, Auburn, or LSU. The SEC argument still holds, though. It's a matter of survival getting through an SEC season.

This shows that Wisconsin is a fairly strong team, but that the SEC is overrated. However, the Big Ten is more overrated because Wisconsin won the only Big Ten bowl game. Wisconsin will probably crack the top 5 in the final rankings.

Arkansas does not have a QB which really hurts when you are playing football (American). They are a very young team that will be good for the next few years.

Shows how overrated the SEC is. The #3 Big Ten team is better than the #2 SEC team. I think they'll finish #6 in the final polls (behind OSU, FL, USC, LSU, and Boise St).
