1000 miles for a quart is not bad, but if the truck has a lot of miles on it or you are driving it hard it could be blowing it out around the rings at highway speed. These late model cars and trucks will do that when they get a lot of miles on them, especially Fords and Dodge products. or your PCV valve could need replacing.

In the old days, spark plugs would start fouling out on cars burning a lot of oil. Today's modern ignition systems can burn a LOT of oil with NO problem and very little smoke, so you may not notice that it's being burned and going out the tailpipe.

sorry but it has to be leaking or burning you just cant notice it. No other way for the oil to get low. Even if it is an internal leak it is one of the two

Your oil rings may be beginning to go bad. The oil is probably being burned up, since it isn't leaking.

One quart per thousand isn't too bad. If you see no oil where you normally park for long periods, you most definately are burning it, but at that rate, you wouldn't notice it.

It's leaking into the cooling system through a leaking head gasket.

will You please check two things.

first: engine rear seal.

second :when cold, pass Your finger inside the tail pipe. If You notice a minimal film of oil,then the catalytic is good ,healthy and working overtime.

If it doesn't leak, it IS burning it!!!
Unless you think maybe David Copperfield is stopping by and making it "disappear"

I would check the radiator you might have a leaky head gasket

That is not bad. It might be sucking it thru pvc.
