It depends on the area you want to rent your home, because Piraeus is a very large city and ends up mixing with Athens.

Appartments on the sea are extremely expensive but if you search in the Kallipoli, Hatzikyriakeio, Agios Neilos, Agios Vassileios, Vrioni areas you can find a comfortable appartment of 75-85 sq.meters at approx. 400€ per month. Don't forget that every month you have to pay the Common Use Expenses (Electricity, water and cleaning for the commonly used parts of the building like entrance, stairs, corridors, pavements etc. - elevator maintenance - garden maintenance - detergents - cleaning lady's salary and social security - building general maintenance etc.) that, depending on the surface of the appartment and the type of heating might start from 20€ for summer time and go up to €100 during winter time (heating is included). If you intend to have a car, then you should look for appartments with parking lots or it will be very difficult to park, because Piraeus is very crowded.

If you have friends in Piraeus, ask them to help you through the newspapers ads. If not, do not hesitate to contact me, because I live in Piraeus for the last 47 years and I could give you sound advice.

Good luck!

The city/port of Piraeus is 8 kilometers south of the city of Athens the capital of Greece. It is a modern city with the comforts and facilities that modern civilization has to offer. If you rent a house in the middle class area of Piraeus, for a one bedroom apartment, the rent could be 200 to 250 euros or 260 to 275 US dollars. You have to add monthly utilities to the rent that normally don't exceed 150 US dollars. A two bedroom apartment would rent at 350 to 400 euros or 455 to 520 US dollars. If you have a friend in Piraeus or Athens, he could take you with his car around the city and you will I am sure find in one day the apartment you desire, there is no need to go to a Real Estate Office and spend your money.

there are more expensive areas to live in Athens and I could say that
because Piraeus is mainly a port, it would be better if u lived in another suburb.
