If an alien intelligent life form landed on earth today and wanted to purchase everything on earth...how much should he/she/it expect to pay?

The purchase would include ALL developed and un-develeoped land as well as infrastructure and resources contained therein.

But not the people themselves.

They don't have enough money.
Besides what currency would be acceptable, euro's or yen.
We might trade our world for theirs if it was an upgrade to what we have.
Also this planet's getting kinda used up, so I say we upgrade to a solar system of our choice and they have to provide for all moving arrangements, plus we want access to their advanced technology for when we design our new cities.

Silly, obviously a big purchase like that would be subject to negotiation.

Seriously though, the problem with your scenario is that, if humans sold every possible asset on Earth, there would be nothing left for humans to buy with that money -- the aliens own it all. Which renders the money worthless. Which means the sale would simply not occur.

You should just ask, what's the total value of all assets on Earth? No one will be able to answer that either.

Today's your lucky day, I would sell it for a mere 1 trillion dollars. You can make the check payable to me. I also accept alien spacecraft and/or eternal happiness.
