There are only four known forces in the universe. Weakest to strongest (and with application) these are:

Gravity - holds masseous objects together, so you don't go flying off the earth.

Electromagnetic - holds atoms together in molecules, responsible for all sense of touch or collisions, responsible for friction (which is how you walk/move around), etc.

Strong Nuclear Forces - hold the particles of the nucleii of atoms (protons and neutrons) together. Without em there wouldn't be atoms and therefore no life. Further, the reaction which splits the particles of an atom relies on releasing the energy of strong nuclear force bonds. Essentially, these are responsible for nuclear power plants and nuclear bombs.

Weak Nuclear Forces - elementary particles of atoms (protons, neutrons, and electrons) are actually composed of imaginary particles. These imaginary particles are bound together by the weak nuclear forces. Without the weak nuclear force, no elementary particles, no atoms, no molecules and, by extension, no life. God help us if we figure out how to make bombs that use the weak nuclear forces as driving energy.
