are you serious?? They should sleep when they want to sleep, and eat when they want to eat! You want a schedule...get a TV guide, not a baby

They are all wrong there is a good schedule for a 3 month old, I know this because my son is 4 months and has been on a schedule since 2 1/2 months old. Well at least a sleeping schedule, not so much for feeding, that you have to do whenever they decide they are hungry. But I started my son on schedule when he was about 6 weeks old. At 7 p.m I would give him a bath, put him in his PJ's, swaddle him, and give him a bottle. He was in bed by 8 o'clock every night on the dot. He cried the first night, and I would just go in every five minutes to reassure him, so he didn't feel abandoned, never picking him up, just talking to him. Every night he cried a little less, and after a week he was falling asleep exactly at 8 and sleeping straight through til 6 in the morning. Now this may depend on whether your baby is ready to go all night without eating or not. But if he does wake up during the night, keep the room dim, and put him back down as soon as he's done eating. And everything should work out. It's better to start a schedule now, then you won't have to worry as much about them not sleeping when they are toddlers, and can crawl out of bed themselves. Trust Me. Good Luck!

Hi, you should try this website http://www.thebabywhisperer.com. I got the baby whisperer book by Tracy Hogg while I was still pregnant and it has really great ideas and information in it. The website is wonderful because it is packed with resources on everything like getting a schedule going, feeding tips, sleeping, etc. There is also message boards on there with tons of other moms posting questions and helping each other, there are also very informed moderators that answer the questions too.

I used it a lot when my son was under 6 mths and I felt like I had no idea what I was doing! lol! It provided encouragement for me to get through the tough times. My son is now 9 mths old, still on a great schedule (since he was 3 mths old) and is doing awesome! He does well with th predictability of it, and is a very happy baby. Good luck to you!

My doctor insisted that I stay on an every 4 hour schedule. She said that the baby's stomach does not digest the milk before 4 hours. The problem was that my son wanted to eat every 3 hours. I fed him when he was hungry and even when he started on baby food he STILL woke up every 3 to 3.5 hours to get a bottle. He didn't sleep all night long until he was 12 months old. He started staying awake during the day around 6 months so I started making sure that he took a nap.

A suggested idea is E.A.S.Y. Eat, Activity, Sleep and then Your time. So being a 3 month old, a rough guide is to feed 3 hourly. Rough though. I split my babies feeds though. Instead of feeding heaps once every 3 hours. I fed less, twice in 3 hours. That's what suited me as a breastfeeding mum. If memory serves me correctly, 3 month olds are awake for about 1 to 1.5 hours at a time. Watch for tired signs though as this can vary. Good luck

All babies are different, and it matters if you're nursing or using formula. That said, My 3 month olds were eating a 4 or 5 ounce bottle every four hours, like 6 am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, and 10pm, and again at 2amish. Some of mine (out of 7 babies) slept through the night by three months, meaning from 10pm till 6am.
They would nap for an hour or two between each feeding.

As a mother of two, I have found that a three-month old wakes to eat every two to three hours depending on how many ounces they eat. For example, every two hours for six ounces, and for eight to ten ounces about every three and sometimes four hours.
