He fathered children. Why shouldn't he be required to pay to support them? He should be paying, and should have been paying EVERY week, from the time they were born. Don't you, as a woman know other women that are struggling to raise kids? Do you believe that HIS kids don't need food or shelter? Why would you have ANYTHING to do with a guy that neglects their own children? Or, is it that you don't mind that you are sleeping with a heartless bastard? Only a subhuman lets their children suffer, so that they can keep all their money, and not waste it feeding and clothing their children.

Anything is possible....If he has been out there spreading his seed and producing children, oh, well. The laws requires that parents support their children. If he is the father of a child out of marriage or in a marriage, the mother can take the guy to court and get child support.... the check that he earns from an employer can be garnisheed , meaning that a check for child support is taken out even before he himself sees it.. The amount ruled by the court varies....it could indeed easily be one half.... If he didn't want to support 4 children he should have figured that out before he had intercourse with women. That is the usual cause of pregnancy. IF he wanted to challenge the paternity of those children, the court will allow that as well. Should the tests prove that the children are his, it is again, then a court decision on how much of his check will be awarded to the mother(s) of these children.... As for the spite issue, that is never considered --- The courts do not settle spiteful differences, only money ones, and what is legal under the statutes regarding the support of minor children..... Percentages vary from state to state

I can tell you this...that when my husband was sued for child support it was based on his salary. We have 4 boys together and I was thinking that it would have been based on that fact but, it wasn't. She does not get half but, she gets enough, and on top of that we get the child every other weekend. I feel that the child's mom did it out of spite. She has about 5 other kids by different men and my hubby is the only one paying child support. Let your b/f pay the max that way she has nothing to hold over his head. Especially, threatening him to raise it.(and keep the receipts.) Now this is my experience but, I hope that it can be of some help.

He will get sued for back child support which could incur to over 25K. You have to think about all the child support he hasn't paid throughout the years. One of his primary responsibilties when you have a child is to take care of it. I'm [pretty sure that woman was struggling to support herself and that child. If it is 1/2 of his salary, it would be from all the back child support he owes. Really, he's lucky they don't take his whole check.
If he hasn't filed for child support yet for those 3 other children, he should do so now b/c what if this happens again down the road.
You are in for a long long ride. So prepare yourself. You said that you are willing to help him out, well good luck. b/c the way its looking right now, is as if you will be paying everything for the two of you b/c his check will be gone.

The amount will be based upon his gross salary, with possible deductions for health insurance (if he is carrying his daughter) and if he is supporting his other children. They can still take a hefty chunk of it. They can also take money from him to repay any public assistance she has received on behalf of the child, plus for back child support he didnt pay for the whole 18 years of the childs life. They can also garnish his federal and state income tax returns, suspend his drivers license (for non-payment) and garnish his paycheck. Any way you look at it, he is going to owe some money.

Most states go by income and his ability to pay. She can't determine how much he has to pay...unless he allows her to call the shots outside of a courtroom. It would be advisable to go through the courts and let a judge decide. Read up on the child custody laws in your state or the state that is handling the case, usually they will tell you how they determine child support payments. What the judge decides, is what he will have to pay, as he should. I hope this helps. Good Luck;)

They base the amount on how many kids he has and how much he makes. They could care less how many bills he has. Kids come before his own bills. But out of curiousity, why would you want to be with a man that doesn't pay child support? Only losers don't support their kids. What if he got you pregnant, then ya'll split up. Do you really think he would support that one?

They can take 50% of his disposable earnings. Which is gross pay minus any mandatory deductions...FICA / medicare / fed withholding / state taxes. Then depending on if he has any other garnishments this will be a deciding factor as well. If the child is 18, and the order is in arrears...then he will be paying child support from the time he stopped or birth which ever is correct, plus interest and late fees!

The courts will be fair to the child. He will have to pay child support for all of his children, based upon his earning ability, until each child reaches the age of 18. Be ready to really really fork out some money for many years. Are you willing to work for this?
