Try a check at parkers owner reviews (http://parkers.co.uk/cars/owners-reviews/search.aspx?range=388). They're pretty good cars, if a little unremarkable, and should be very reliable - Daihatsu 4x4s built their UK business on farmers, and there's a group of people who can be hard on off-roaders.

I've never heard any particular horror stories relating to them. If the usual checks on condition, service history etc check out, you should be ok.

I wouldnt recommend one. Owned two and wasnt impressed and dont hold money that well either.

Bad for head gaskets and coolant system problems. Fuel economy is crap. Same as a diesel fourtrak which has a 2.8 engine in it. Ride is dreadful, leaf springs.

Personally I'd save up and buy a fourtrak.

Midori wasn't popular due to the bogging colour.

I think you might be on to something. Look into it more and you'll probably get a better idea on the subject.
