Remember? "cancer caused by a virus! I didn't know! Life is so unfair to women! " I had better "tell someone!" Remember?
Oh lord, all women are going to get cervical cancer.

Merck fronted these commercials so 6 months later they could sell you the hpv vaccine. Hallelujah lord! We found the cure! Make sure you are "one less"!

Try not to be such sheep people.

Actually Iris, it is a question. It begins with a capital letter, has punctuation, and expresses a complete thought.

HPV is sexually transmitted? I didn't know that. Well, just one more disease that really only affects tramps who sleep with every guy who drives a fast car.

I get so tired of asking legit questions about birtch control only to get a bunch of answers about protecting yourself from diseases. I don't worry any about that because I am monogamous and I don't try to see how many people I can sleep with. Tramps.

Yes, I am on a crusade. I'm tired of being told and women acting like life isn't fair. Go to the damn doctor, listen to them, do what they say, then shut up about it. This fear preaching is unnerving me.

Women in the US are being bombarded with information about HPV because there is now a vaccine being sold that supposedly provides some protection. It's about the money...MONEY. They want to sell more vaccine so the drug manufacturer is doing the advertising.

Most people will get HPV at some point in their lives, and experts estimate the lifetime risk of acquiring HPV to be between 70 and 90%, depending on what you read. So...it doesn't mean that only tramps get it. There aren't many symptoms of HPV and there are more than 70 different types. Of which, 30 are sexually transmitted. Some cause genital warts and others abnormal changes in the cervix, which eventually if left untreated will lead to cervical cancer. It can take years for HPV to show up in a pap. If you are in a monogomous relationship and your spouse had slept with some woman/man before you who had HPV...you could still get it...so would that make you a tramp? Or your spouse a tramp? Maybe you should do some research before name calling!!

This isn't really a question, but I want to comment because I noticed the same thing.

Any time a medical company has commercials that look like public service announcements, be suspicious. Merck wants to sell more pap smears (ugh!) and their crap vaccine which will probably cause more cancer than it will cure.

If a commercial doesn't have the Public Service Announcement screen around it, it's just an ad.

Because if you can stop people from getting HPV, by getting them vaccinated, then you can stop it from spreading so rapidly and save lives... It's an STD that can have fatal consequences.

I'll be getting that shot - one less STD to f**k up my life. Baaaaaaa.

If they were advertising the vaccine for AIDs would you be saying this?

As far as I know, no one virus has yet been discovered to CAUSE cancer in humans. They're just saying it to scare people into the vaccine.
