Any Crumb fans ? Did you crack up after watching his autobiographical documentary ?

Crumb rocks. Seen Fritz the Cat? He did a good job on the Big Brother and the Holding Co. album too.

I think he was a very funny guy in a morbid kind of a way. I first saw his work in Zap comics; he was far ahead of the curve when it came to social commentary. My favorite of his pieces was something called Meatball! in which a magic meatball beaned people at revelatory moments.

It's true that his work all looks kind of the same, but these days that's not much of a criticism, when most art and music is indistinguishable.

Probably one of the most influential illustrators of the last 50 years. I still have stacks of his "comic books" that I still marvel over. He was defiantly one of a kind as his documentary showed. I laughed so hard during it I was in tears. Keep on Truckin'.

i think hes great, i went to his main website , the one that has his family on tere too an stuff, i drew a picture that i wanted to send as fan mal but i guess robert lives ot of the us an it was hard so i forgot about it
