Recently I discovered Web sites with some interesting 360 degree pictures from the five Appolo missions that allegedly made it to the moon. What I notice about the pictures is, if these pictures were actually taken on the Earth, then the perspective is all wrong, as the horizon appears to be way too close in the pictures taken on flat terrain. Faking the picture by bringing in the horizon wouldn't work, since that would distort everying else - standing objects would look too skinny, circles would look like ellipses, etc. On the other hand, if the pictures were taken on the moon, which has 1/4 the diameter of the Earth, then the altered perspective makes perfect sense.

So, for all you conspiracy theorists, how do we explain this? Personally, I'm stumped on how they pulled this off.

Goodness...

Thank you all for playing, but this question is really for the conspiracy theorists, who appear to be just repeating their own pet theories rather than addressing my point. The stuff related to craters and flags I've heard a million times, but how do you fake perspective, especially in a 360 degree camera shot? If these pictures were taken on Earth, how was it done?

I gave get the points to a conspiracy theorist who at least tried to address the issue, although I have to say his statements all sound ridiculous. Guys like him give conspiracy theory a bad name.

Now, I've got it figured out! Everyone used in the shot was built 1:2 scale, i.e. the side measurements were all twice as big. This means that, for the astronauts used in the shots, they had to find guys that were 5'8" and weighed about 600 pounds. Photographed to distort the perspective, this should produce a normal-looking scene with the horizon pulled way in. Simple!

Your website has some fake things on it. Well the first thing that YOu can see that is wrong the irregular propotion of the horizon. What may have lead you to beleive that they were fake landings is that ametaur PhotoShop users could have easily sent the website some edited pictures. But if they were real scientists then that would be quite hard. First the 1/4 size of the moon and the horizon on these pictures are somewhat wrong. If a machine was to take this photo the sun would be much brighter, and byt his photo it looks a bit fishy. Carefully look at it and think about your question.

Holy crap! The horizon really is closer on the moon!

Now that's a really cool picture, it shows the sun, the moon, the black sky, the lunar lander, the photographer's shadow, and the opposition effect overbrightness around the camera's position.

And to all the conspiracy theorists who might be wondering why there aren't any stars in the lunar sky??

Well do this: Go to your bathroom window the next time you wake up in the middle of the night.

Before you turn on *any* lights open the window and look out.

What do you see? Stars, right?
You might have some artificial skyglow but surely you can see at least a few stars, right? Maybe some trees, buildings, even clouds, but you also see stars.

Now turn on the light without looking at it. Keep your eye on the window. (have someone turn it on for you if that's not possible)

What do you see now? Eh? Eh?

So how could you expect anyone to see stars with the lightbulb on, much less in full sunlight?

I'm trying desperately to hold my tongue. All I want to know is: Why are there still people out there that are so adamant that the moon landing didn't happen? I guess I'm just wondering exactly why you think it was a hoax? What would we have to gain from such an elaborate stunt, if it were a stunt? I just don't get it. There are so many more important things to worry about in this world. I throw my hands up in the air. I give up.

Here's how you explain that you want to believe the moon landings were faked ...

"Hi ... I'm a simpleton. I don't understand anything about physics, mechanics, photography, or pretty much anything else that extends beyond junior high science class.

Thanks to my stunning lack of technical prowess and a healthy dose of gullibility, I've been duped into thinking that the Apollo program was the most fantastic hoax in the history of mankind, and only total morons like myself have managed to notice!

Not only has absolutely no one with any technical credibility ever discovered the elementary mistakes made by the obviously inept NASA crew that engineered the stunts, no one involved in the program has ever so much as hinted that the landings were a hoax. It's so improbable that it's brilliant -- literally hundreds of thousands of people involved in the project have all faked it for nearly 40 years, and the Soviets, who had every reason in the world to reveal the hoax to the world, were all too stupid to figure it out.

Did I mention that I'm a simpleton?"

I myself heard of these fake pics man but i think that may be some landings were not always true or even possible. The 1st reason i've found is that they've tried to do these particular mission and failed so in order not to lose their dignity, they've tried to produce fake pics.I know it's a bit bizzare so I'll give you my second reason which is that the've never landed on these planets but produced false proof to recieve the money needed for the suposed mission.

it is uncomplicated to be a denier while you're prepared to make up your technology. I see in solutions right here that we are even denying that there is the variety of factor as laser ranging of the moon. For the ideas of that individual: the dimensions of that spot isn't 30" on the moon. No laser is surely collimated. It spreads out to quite a few km in diameter via the time it hits the moon. so because it extremely is the dimensions of the objective you're able to desire to hit. additionally it is not a laser so useful it may "vaporize something in its direction". can we even have such lasers? I assure you, any laser obtainable on the instant it extremely is unfolded over tens of sq. km shouldn't vaporize something. via the time the beam comes back they're actually counting one photon at a time.

I don't mean to ruin your obviously well thought out theory but do you really think that its a fake. I mean why would they fake it for money I guess but think about all the people that NASA and the government would have to keep quiet. What are the chances that nobody would let it slip. Or that someone wouldn't just tell someone. I am no Scientist but that is my take on this theory.

The moon landings were real , Capricorn 1 is a movie about the government faking a Mars landing , which could be where all the mis-information is coming from .

The only way to explain it is to believe that we actually did go to the moon, which is what actually happened.

I guess you can do what conspiracy theorists usually do and that would be to ignore logic.
