What country are you calling from? If you're calling a mobile from the US, be prepared for a shock when you get your bill - it'll be HUGE.
Cheapest call rates are by using a prepaid international phone card, and calling landline to landline. You can talk for hours for just a few dollars.

Go to call18866.co.uk or ww.ratebuster.co.uk, and then follow instructions. You'll find you can ring Sydney Landlines for a 1p min, and Mobiles for 9p a min on ratebuster, with Call18866 being slightly more at 2p min and 15p min. Depends on how you would like to pay though.
Hope this helps!
