Additionally to Rabbityama's answer, Kyoto univ, Doshisha Univ, Keio Univ, Meiji Univ, Aoyama Gakuin Univ, and Rikkyo Univ, are also considered few of the top universities in Japan

I went to college in Japan and although i don't fully agree with what the first poster has said, I do believe there is lots of room for improvement in the college educational system in Japan.
At least the one I went to....

The Japanese consider Tokyo University and Waseda University to be their best colleges. It is extremely competetive and difficult to get accepted to these universities. They are Japan's version of America's Harvard and Yale, I think.

No, not at all. All the colleges in Japan are absolutely horrid. It's a surprise they manage to do anything astounding with such a poor quality of education.
