That is certainly the old expression. (Behind every great man is a great woman. I always think about Presidents when I hear that expression.
I am not so sure the expression still holds as much water as it once did, because there are a lot of great men who have never married but may have a partner.

A man is incomplete without a woman. Why do you think we are such opposites. She helps balance his life. Helping him to do great things. A man can not be truly "great" without a woman. The kind of greatness this is, is the kind that's for the good of all. And that's the kind of man she wants. Thus completing each other. It's true.
