It's an original gift, I guess... but I would be upset if, say, I was a vegetarian or something. Depends on the circumstances.

Given that you LOVE bacon, it's pretty obvious that the gift-giver had you (perhaps ONLY you?) in mind when purchasing your gift. Maybe your friend feels that the gift-giver did, in fact, have only you in mind and thus feels somewhat slighted. So maybe it's not the bacon she's actually upset about.
Another thing to consider is who the gift-giver is and what his/her relationship is to you and/or your friend. Is there a possibility that this person may have intentionally given you and your friend a gift that he/she knew only you would enjoy? I know it sounds cynical, but anything's possible.
The following is actually in response to someone else's comment regarding Christians and bacon:
Technically, any Christians who prefer not to eat pork can still enjoy bacon. Not only are turkey and beef versions available, there are also several varieties of vegetarian bacon available. I said that to say that just because something is called "bacon" doesn't necessarily mean it's a no-no for Christians who choose not to consume pork/swine.

Is it a religious issue that she is upset about the bacon? If not I would suggest that you collect a few recipes together utilizing bacon as an ingredient. She might enjoy it in a different capacity than a breakfast side.

I'll eat all the bacon I can get. Even though it's totally bad for you, I love the stuff and can eat about a half pound at a time

That's pretty unique. I think whoever purchased it spent some time thinking about this. She should be thankful. Maybe you can buy her shipment from her each month (at a discount!) and enjoy. Or you can get together and have a bacon tasting once a month. Gee, all our problems should be so trivial.

Does she not like bacon? Poor thing! It's a gift...she needs to get over it...unless of coruse, she is Muslim or Jewish (I have never heard anything about Christians not being permitted to eat pork).

A lot of Christians don't like and will not eat bacon. All Christians shouldn't eat it because God has called it unclean meat.
