There are many species of VENOMOUS snakes. They vary from region to region. For instance, in Missouri, we have Copperheads, Cottonmouths, and 3 species of rattlesnakes.
On the spot, first aid treatment would depend on where the wound is located. If on the leg, you'd try to tie off the leg on either side of the wound to prevent/slow the circulation of venom in the blood. Then you'd immobilize the leg with a splint. You would NOT try to suck out the venom, as many people believe. This is impossible.
Medical treatment would probably consist of an anti-venom injection, antibiotics, and cleaning/bandaging the wound if necessary.

it depends on what kind of venomous snakes u are talking about. I used to live in CA and they would treat the snake bites with crofab. This isnt something u can get. you have to go to the hospital and it isnt cheap. If you want something exotic then chances are ur local hospital wont have the antivenom.
Hope this helps.....

rattlesnakes, black mambas, cobras, green mambas, and hundreds of others and they can all be treated with anti-venom but the best solution is just not to get bit in the first place.
