Simply put...they need to have Notre Dame officially become part of the Big Ten, seeing that they are always playing teams of the Big Ten anyway with annual regularity (Michigan, Michigan St., Purdue..)...You place Notre Dame in the Big Ten, then you have a strong Big 10 or (or 12) conference...along with Michigan, Ohio St., Iowa, Wisconsin etc...

If you add teams to the Big 10 then you have to take some out so that it stays the Big 10; there's already a Big 12 so adding two teams to the big 10 is kind of dumb unless you take two out. Otherwise there are other sports that the Big 10 competes in besides football and should not be judged solely by one sport.

what about Wisconsin, Penn St., etc who are better than MOST mid-majors but not great. Wisconsin is very good though, they beat Arkansas and are definitely worthy of BCS school... Boise St and BYU are probably the best from those conferences if that is what you want.
