You should be OK. There are 2 kinds of infections. Viral and bacterial. Antibiotics only help bacterial infections. You most likely have a cold or a viral sinus infection. Either one...you have to sit it out. I don't think you have to worry about the baby unless you are coughing excessively or running fever. Of course this is just my opinion because I am not a doctor. Good luck and congrats on baby!

It's normal. Most people get sick at some point in their pregnancy. It won't hurt your baby, unless you take over the counter drugs that are harmful. You need to be careful of the decongestants that you take when you are pregnant. Make sure they don't take alcohol or other ingredients that could harm your baby. I like to take dayquil when I get sore throats and a stuffy head when I am pregnant. Don't take nitequil. It contains alcohol.

You really need to follow your doctors advice, but I know how it feels to be sick & pregnant, not fun. You need to rest as much as you can, feet up on the couch, under a blanket, and drink heaps & heaps of water. I used a nasal spray for the stuffy nose, and had recommended dose of paracetamol for my temperature.
If you look after yourself, then your baby will be fine.

The baby will not get sick from your cold. Some over-the counter medication like Robitussin is recommended by doctors and is safe during pregnancy.

sounds like sinusitis to me or it could be anything like a nasal polyp - but then again, i'm not a doctor. i had the same condition and it went on for months so i decided to see the doctor. turned out i have nasal polyp on both nostrils. btw, ears hurt when you blow your nose so hard. if you don't want to see the doctor, you can try drinking a lot of water, warm soup to relieve you of nasal congestion, and take 1000 mg of vitamin c every day. i don't take over the counter meds for common colds because there is really no cure for the common colds.

i don't think it will hurt the baby if you have something minor like a cold or sinus infection. your doctor should be able to give you a list of over-the-counter medications that are safe for you to take to make yourself feel better. also, check out babycenter.com - it's full of great advice for pregnancy and after.

I got sick with all three of my pregnancies. My doctors advice was live with it if you can, and if you can't let the doc know. Your OB will be able to tell you what is safe to take. Call your OB.

Don't take any decongestants or expectorants while pregnant. Rest, drink lots of fluids and don't worry, the baby will be just fine.
