A friend of mine said that her bf was thinking about proposing to her. Im aware of the fact that he has to get her a ring to propose, but does the guy have to buy himself a ring too? Or does the girl by the guy a ring after he proposes to her?? How does that work???

A wedding band is purchased for the man (by the girl) before the wedding (they usually pick out matching bands) - he wears it only after the ceremony when it has been placed on his finger.

He buys a (matching) wedding band for her (not the engagement ring) that she gets to wear after the ceremony too.

Women usually get two rings - a rock and a band
Guys just usually get the band

The best way to do it is buy it together, make it a fun date when picking out his ring. My husband/fiance paid for both of our rings so unsure who really is supposed to pay for the man's ring.

good question.that has always confused me too. I knew the guy had to buy the girl a ring but I wasn't sure how the wedding bands and rings were done.

I've never heard of that. As far as I know, the guy only buys the ring for the girl. She isn't obligated to buy him one too.

I bought my husbands ring myself before the wedding ... I felt it was the right thing to do ... why should he have to pay for both ... !

no, she doesn't have to buy him a ring, he doesn't get a ring till they get married, and then they will pick out their rings together!

THEY BOTH BUY IT TOGETHER. it doesn't matter. they will both end up paying the bills anyway once they get married.
