Stereotype, I'm reporting abuse and I request that you remove the question. they can't restrict certain people from buying from their restaurants, as it's against the law and literally unmoral.

No. Because that would bring them another lawsuit about discrimination against overweight people. As long as McDonalds has the nutrition information on the container the food is in then they can avoid all lawsuits about overweight ( if you look on the fry box and the wrapper of there sandwiches there is a nutrition label there). Also if I was the defense lawyer for this case, I would wear this lady out. She can't blame McDonalds for the weight gain it her decision whether to eat the food or not. Everyone in there right mind knows that eating lots of fast foods or greasy foods period, could cause weight gain. Plus she probably was already on the verge of being overweight. I bet she never excercise and was a couch potato. Was she eating healthy? I bet not, she can't even prove that it was the McDonalds food that cause the weight gain. Also because now McDonalds has salads and fruit salad to offer. She was the one to choose the unhealthy burgers and fries instead of the healthy choices available. A while back there was another lawsuit against McDonalds for Too Hot Coffee. An elderly woman suffered second degree burns when she accidentally spilled the hot coffee in her lap. She sued McDonalds for lots of money, I think it was over a billion of dollars. Did you hear about the lady that left her new born baby in a McDonalds bathroom? Crazy! I'm a big girl and I love eating McDonalds but there would be no way for me to blame McDonalds for my weight gain. I excercise and now i'm trying to eat healthier. Staying away from greasy foods. Wish Me Luck!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said before:
You know what, I am overweight and I eat healthy and exercise regualrly - so that wouldn't be fair to me or anyone else like me if that was an actual law or rule! I rarely eat fast food, and when I do, it's usually something like a Big Mac and maybe once every 2 or 3 months. So you should really think before you ask ridiculous questions like this.
You know what, its not always our fault, I was born this way, and so were all the women on my mom and dad's side. So keep your rude opinions to your self!!!!
Karma - What goes around comes around - Literally!
So NO is the answer. People shouldn't have the right to do anything like that - seeing how we are all PEOPLE - a.k.a HUMAN BEINGS!
If you think that law should be made - thats your opinion, and no ones opinion is wrong, but what you think CAN be wrong, and in this case, it is.

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. Restaurants should refuse service to customers whom are unruly, not overweight. Besides, there's no actual proof that a restaurant's food alone is the cause of someone's weight gain or medical problems.

No, it's not their fault. Now a days Mcdonalds and other fast food places have posted charts and hand out sheets of how many calories is in their food. First off, people know that pretty much fried foods, too much treats, greasy food, all that is not a healthy balanced meal, especially if you eat it frequently. She can't sue them for her cravings. There are so many diet programs to try out, and many easy learning tools for a daily diet and exercise routine. She won't get no where with that law suit. So, if she doesn't want the extra pounds, she better hop on a bike, swim, jog, start eating right.

I don't think they should refuse service but I definietly think there should be a law in place to protect these restaurants. We also need the courts to throw out these lawsuits as soon as they see them. I think most do anyway.
People know they are bad for your health, if they decide to eat there then it is their decision to go - no one forces them. That is totally ridiculous, suing for being overweight.

Restaurants provide and serve food, they don't shove it down anyones neck. Surely fat people have no grounds for suing restaurants for their weight problems. For this to work I say make them prove that they wouldn't have gotten fat if the restaurant had never existed.
People don't get fat from eating at McDonalds, Burger King etc. Plenty of people who are a healthy weight eat there. People get fat from eating at McDonalds *every day* And not getting any excercise.

No. It is a silly law suit. No one forces anyone to put anything in their mouths. No restaurant can refuse service to someone overweight. Who would be the judge of that one? Just think, they would be barred from buffets all the time. Hopefully she was not successful in her suit.

No, that would be discrimination, which is illegal. On the flip side, the lady who's suing needs to learn some accountability. Too many people blame someone else for their problems! I

no, i mean, they know what they are eating, if people were smart they wouldnt eat that 3 times a day, 7 days a week, geez, i hate it when ppl do that
and now mcdonalds has all the nutrition facts on EVERYTHING! except drinks, so yea, there is NO excuse!
i think that people eat to much and should gain knowledge about what they are eating, but not sue for it!
watch "supersize me"
it opened my eyes!
