In my experience, fans (being really the only moving part) are often the first piece of hardware in a computer to just break down. Buy a new one, they are cheap.

Quit running the computer and find out why the fan isn't working. Test the fan. If the fan works, the test the power supply. Keep checking until you find and correct the problem. There is a chance that you've already damaged your processor and/or other components. Heat kills electronics. If it shut itself down and you have not tried to force it to keep going, it'll probably be 'ok'. If you cannot service the unit, take it someplace. But don't just fry your machine.

Easy, you can purchase another one and get a computer tech to install it. (This may be easier said then done depending on how the fan is incorporated into your tower.) OR Put your computer in a well ventilated area. I would suggest putting a fan near by or a nicely air conditioned room. Remember that over heating can do serious damage to a computer's components.

you lucky bugger. peace at last. the fans are so noisy and annoying.
however, your hardware will get damaged without them.
the best thing to do is open your case(s) and check for loose wires. if there are any damaged (which often occurs with a wire bein lodged over the processor fan, wearing them down), then replace them. they are only about £3.
also, periodically unscrew the fan from your processor heatsink and vacuum the heatsink and fan, and brush the fan with a small paint brush, as less dust means a quieter and smoother running computer.
i have done that with my old computer and it has run perfectly for 4 years now without one hardware failure. except from the dial up modem, which i think was over usage maybe.

you need to get it replaced but for now just try to ventilate it yourself. Whenever you have it on make sure nothing covers the vents and place a fan close to the openings. If it feels too warm place it directly over the fan.

depending on how old your computer is I would either buy a new computer or take it in and get it repaired. You are asking for more problems by using the computer without the fan working.

I would go to Radio Shack, Best Buy or some kind of electronics store and get a new fan. A computer will not run efficiently or last that long if it gets too hot............

Well first we would need to know what fan you are talking about. The one on your motherboard?
The one on your case?
The one on your processor?
If your computer is still under warranty call the manufacture.
Or u can look for a new one on newegg.com if you want to install it your self

Well, replace it then!!! Simple. You shouldn't even turn on the computer if you know the fan isn't working. Repair it first.
