Just watched a bit of UK Celebrity Big Brother. Am I being naive or is it obvious that he may have had surgery.

Yes on his nose! He had rhinoplasty surgery. He had an acne problem when he was a teenager well into his early 20s. Eventually his acne cleared up; Jermaine was left with deep scaring. So it may look like his cheeks don't move but they do. Just the deep scaring is what is in the way!
