i dont want my new sweater to end up looking old with just one washing.

I put mine in a sweater bag, wash it with Woolite in cold water with white vinegar in the rinse water which reduces static (that attracts lint) and softens the fabric. Then I put it in the dryer on the rack so it doesn't tumble. But, you could also lay it flat to dry. The vinegar smell dissapates as it dries. You also might consider getting an inexpensive sweater pill remover at the discounters if you have garments that have already pilled. It operates on a battery and you merely turn it on and lightly go over the fabric and it removes the pills.

One of two options. Either hand wash the sweater and lay flat to air dry. Or take the sweater to a Dry Cleaner. ~Good Luck~

Wash it by itself in cold water on extra delicate then let it hang dry or put dryer on air dry.
