I know that the answer to the question is 648 because I've already taken the pretest but I have no idea how to solve this equation. I think I'm doing something wrong. If anyone could help solve this so I know how when it comes up on the real test it will be really appreciated.

First: replace 3 with the "y" variables >

(3^3)(3^3 - 3)

Sec: solve according to order of operations >

27(27 - 3)
27(24)
648

3^3=27

27(27-3)=27*24=648

y3=27
27-3=24
27(24)
that equals 648

3^3((3^3)-3) = 27*(27-3) = 27*24 = 648

its so obvious; just substitute all the Y's with 3 and do the math
