I was going to get the X1650 PRO tomorrow and get more RAM later.(1048MB,depending on card performance) But I discovered that Overclockers UK are selling a new AGP card that seems to be more powerful than the X1650. The X1950 PRO. I read a site that tells me allthe details and it seems very impressive. I also realised that it costs £152 inc VAT. I don't have that kind of cash but I also know that it hasn't went into full production in the 512MB model. I don't want another 256MB. But I can't find one on Ebay. I'm thinking that it may become more available and cheaper. I would buy if it was cheaper. But when is this card due to become more available and no more expensive than £120 on any retailer or merchant, even on ebay? If its not out within a week and is still expensive I'll probably get the X1650 PRO off of Overclockers UK. Tell me if its worth the wait and the price...

The X1950Pro is probably one of the top 10 most powerful cards out, hence AGP is not quite as dead as the last guy seems to think. It isn't however going to come down much, because they are not going to make a whole bunch of them, AGP is in fact a dying technology. Don't be so concerned with amout of RAM, the real thing is how much better the core speed and RAM speed on the X1950 is than the X1650.

Get the x1950 pro no question. The x1650 pro is low end, whether it has 1 mb or 2 billion terabytes of memory, it is bad. The thing about video card memory is that unless you are gaming at 1600x1200 or higher and want ultra-high framerates with all settings maxxed, you simply have no use for anything more than 256 mb. More memory is only better on a high end card, no mid or low end card has ever shown a performance gain of more than 1 fps between the 256 and 512 mb versions. Get a 256 mb x1950pro agp now. If you don't believe me about the memory, check any graphics forum IN THE WORLD. Trust me.

This is a tough one. Its sometimes difficult to tell somebody what they don't want to hear when, by the nature of their question, they're obviously looking for the answer that makes em feel good inside and not real truth. I'm one for real truth tho, so here goes. Don't waste your money on AGP. It's going out of production. They intend to discontinue it as SOON as they possibly can. It's outdated technology. The REAL answer is get a new motherboard with PCI Express. Even if you have to suffer with paltry onboard graphics until you can afford a PCI Express video card in a few months, your money would be better spent with PCI Express then AGP. Sorry if it's not the answer you were looking for. But it IS truthful.
