I have a hamster and we didnt feed it for a long time cause i had no food for it and me and my cousin fed it lettuce, and juss last night it looked dead but it was alive and it had some nasty black stuff coming out of her *** that looked like poop but i dont think it was, i want to know what it is...can some one help me?

My mom wasnt here for 5 days and me and my brother were home alone she didnt leave us money and our aunt was supposed bring the food and we were gonna pay her back when my mom got back but she never came and by the time my mom came we had NO HAMSTER!!!

I stayed with my 19 year old brother and he's not working and even if we had money he had no car thas why we werent able to go out thats the only reason and the pharmacies are to far .... my mom didnt leave us because she wanted too.....anyways my other hamster didnt die he's better :)

If its black then its probably poop. Do you know that you could have fed him carrots and veggies while you were out of food. Hamsters like yogurt. I used to feed mine that as a snack. I gave my chinchilla coconut shavings. They are rodunts and will eat veggies. So next time you are out of food, give it some of that for a few days. Its better than nothing.

Are you for real?!? WHY did you not call 911??
If your old enough to use a computer and reach out to Yahoo Answers,you could have researched "feeding hamsters" and used your computer to save its LIFE!!! That black stuff would be coming out of you too if its all you had to eat while starving to death.Were you?
WHY did you not call or email the police if you were left without food or money? Now your poor hamster is gone,and even though your "mom" came back it is too late. Child Protective Services better be aware that you were without cash,supervision and guidance in this crisis for 5 days! Its just plain wrong your hamster too has to pay for your this abuse. Be careful that you are not next.

Probably diarrhoea. Lettuce will have upset your hamsters stomach, especially if you haven't fed it for a while. Why haven't you fed it anyway? You had no food? Pathetic. Get some proper food bought for your pet. You are responsible for the animal so I suggest you take care of it properly. If you're not able to do that, give it to your local shelter. I think you're the dumb creature in this case.

Your hamster probably has diarrhea. There is not much you can do for it now. It will more than likely die soon.
You should be ashamed of yourself for starving your little critter! Are you so poor that you could not feed yourself?(I thought not.) Put yourself in his/her position and imagine being scared and hungry with no way to provide for yourself! Imagine how bad it's little tummy had to hurt and over time how it grew colder and colder.
Do not ever get another pet until you can provide for it. On second thought, just don't get another pet because you lack the sensibility and the compassion to care for another living creature!

if you didnt feed it for a long time i'm truely shocked the hamster isnt dead but it might have upset the hampsters stomach or digestive tract your going to be better off giving it dry corn or bird seed , or sunflower seeds if you dont have any of this give it a little dry dog food or dry cat food until you can get it some hampster food you need to it back on its normal hampster food its used too asap hope this helps

~It's poop! I don't think they're supposed to eat lettuce. You should go to a pet store and ask them, and buy some hampster food while you're at it.
They have to have a wheel for exercise. I'm sure the hamster is starving. Also, don't leave him near heat, they over heat really easy.

don't feed your hamster lettuce; that'll give it diarrhea because of the water content in the lettuce! can't you just go and buy some hamster food?

i think it was poop but i had a hamster and it had black stuff coming out of her butt and i gave her some medcine and it helped her alot

If it was coming out of their butt, it probably was poop. I don't know how hamsters digest lettuce. But, thats probably what it was.
