I am buying an Xbox 360 in 2 weeks for my husband's birthday. Currently our favorite multiplayer shooting game is Red Faction 2. I am looking to buy something similar for us to play on the 360. Any advice? Thoughts on other good games appreciated too.

I have been checking out Halo 2 since all the answers, but it seems Halo 2 is for Xbox, not the 360. So how does this work, is there a difference playing it on 360 than the xbox... we're keeping our Xbox since it has a mod in it and we still play it daily.

I just bought Call of Duty 3, so that's exciting to hear about a good multiplayer. I am not too sure how often we will be online with it just yet, so 1 v 1 good multiplayer is what I really want, that's what we're used to. Atleast until I get the wireless hooked up.

I saw the VGA on Spike and they voted Elder Scroles IV: Oblivion the game of the year for '06 but i personaly think Halo 2 or Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was a good multi-player and i play Halo 2 on live with my friend MAINSTREET blvd at his place as abbyssall lord so maybe i'll see you on there :D

Halo 1-2 both are compatible with the x-box 360 the only difference is the graphics clean up a little bit and the white and black buttons are not on the 360 controller instead there are the shoulder bump buttons. Also Gears of War is a great game especially if you like blood flying everywhere. And you can melee with a grenade which sticks it into your opponent and then your character pushes them away and the they explode in a satisfying blood splatting explosion( Max insult points to the guy you do it to :) ). COD3 would be fun I've only played 1-2 but from the history it should be good.

Gears of War if you like 4 vs. 4 online games, but you can only play 1 vs. 1 offline with just one 360 and game.
Call of Duty 3 if you like war games and it has a really good online multiplayer.
Halo 2 if really fun, but it can get boring if you play too much.

Gears of war is probably the cest shooter up game, you should try tiger woods golf or even lego star wars they are two cool games you can play together

HALO 2 DEFINATELY. better graphics than red faction but similar gameplay. and i heard gears of war was AMAZING ALSO

definately halo 2. chek it out and u will be addicted to it for years!
