KT actually translates to Karat. That usually means how much percentage of real metal is in the jewellery. For eq. 18Kt gold has 75% of gold and the rest some other metal, commonly copper of silver.

Dont you just hate errors?
KT stands for Karat, which is defined as:
Unit of fineness, scaled from one to 24. 24-karat gold (or pure gold) has at least 999 parts pure gold per thousand; 18-karat has 750, etc.
CARAT is a totally different thing: (Princess? Read carefully)
The unit of weight by which a diamond is measured. One carat equals 200 milligrams, or 0.2 grams. The word comes from the carob bean, whose consistent weight was used in times past to measure gemstones.

OH my honey,
dont worry you'll learn more about jewlery when you have more of it but the KT stands for karat. which is what gold is measured in, the highest amount is 24 karats. The reason most jewlery doesnt have the full amount is because gold is verry fragile. so they mix other metals with it to make it stronger!

It means karat, purity of gold. 24 kt is pure, 18kt is 75% gold and 25% copper/silver. 14kt is 58% gold, 12kt is 50% gold. Although 14kt has less gold than 18kt or 24kt, 14kt is a harder alloy and will last longer, especially in a ring.

Hi
This is the Karat of the gold. 24 Karat is 99% gold, and the amount of gold goes down each time the Karat goes down i.e. 14 Karat is only about 54% gold - the rest is made up of other metals. Hope this helps.

PEOPLE... IT'S NOT KAROT, IT'S CARAT... YOU MUST NOT HAVE A LOT OF JEWELRY!!!
It's CT. and it's a carat...
It's a unit of weight in gemstones, 200 milligrams (about 3 grains of troy or avoirdupois weight). Abbreviation: c., ct.
It's measurements of weight and size of a gem, basically.
Personally I have 3 carat diamonds set in platinum and I'm ONLY 20!!! :-)
If you really meant "kt", then it's a measurement of speed that is equal to 1.15 mph and one nautical mile per hour
... but that isn't jewelry.
