Depends. Industrial or shop vacs are fine. Anything that you use around the house is not designed for the kind of allergens and minute (smelly) particles that would make its way through the bag at some point in the future. Whisk and dust pan are the best bet.

NO!!! Dust pan and whisk broom work the best, if you want it really clean use a wet sponge after you get most of the ashes out. Never a vacuum you'll be dusting for weeks!!! Yes even if it is a Dyson!

Maybe for the final bit of cleaning. The ashes will clog your vacuum.

hey i do i just make sure ashes are out also u could spray with a little water and use a wet vac if u hv one just make possitive fire is all out good luck

Try a SHOP VAC, should have no problems with that kind of vac. :o)
