Every action, there is a reaction. Flying Bullets have an equal and opposite reaction. That is the hot air that burns inside the chamber that propel the bullet forward.

That hot air is used to reload another bullet into the chamber, so that if your hand is still on the triggle, the bullet percassian cap will be hammered, and the propellent will be burn, thus propel the bullet forward.

The entire cycle will repeat automatically. That is why it is also called automatic M/C gun.

Basically, the kickback of the bullet is automatically used to load the next bullet in the chamber and kick the the used shell out through a complicated mechanical chamber designed for this.

Same as a automatic shifter vs a manual shifter in a car.
