The show was on hiatus since 11/30/06. The next episode will air on 01/11/06. The episode is called Six Days (Part 1) and here is an episode summary...
A patient named Heather checks into the hospital. Heather is 17 and has a nasty attitude that results from her medical condition and all the surgeries it has required her to have. A woman has an emotional breakdown when she tries to hand over something very important to her. A doctor's family comes to visit to celebrate an occasion.

Considering this is the 3rd time I have answered this today, I think people need to look and see if the question has been asked and see if they can find their answer.
But, until that actually happens.....here ya go again.
well, I don't know what you all are watching, but according to the info on my directv programming alert for tonight, the new episode starts tonight. Has to do with a car accident that slams the ER and Izzy pushing her probation. I know that wasn't the last new one I saw, so ya might want to check for sure before you wait until next week. The last new episode was about the twin brothers who were joined.
The repeats are because of holiday programming and the bowl games. same thing happens around superbowl, NHL playoffs and the world series. The fall season is only so many episodes, so they take a break about halfway through to stretch it out. Also, on Grey's, they are still considered interns in their first year, so they can't do any type of holiday episode because it will throw it off, unlike a regular sitcom. At the end of this season, which is season 3, they will be done with their first year.
and now ya know......

I HAVE FOUND 3 DIFFERENT THIGS THAT TELL ABOUT TONIGHTS EPISODE AND NONE OF THEM ARE THE SAME!!!!

tv.yahoo.com and abc.com both show 1/11 as the next new episode. So it would seem that tonight will be another rerun. I thought I heard on the radio that tonight's episode was new though so it might be worth it to check in at 9PM and make sure it's not new in case ABC and tv.yahoo.com haven't updated.
Most shows go on hiatus during the holidays because of lower viewership because of people traveling and the tv stations would rather air holiday specials that get people to gather around and watch. Shows also go on hiatus during this time because it is not a sweeps period. Sweeps is when additional metrics are gathered and ratings really matter because this is when ratings will determine how much they can charge advertisers for slots during the show based on the audience they receive during this period. Sweeps occurs in November, February, and May so those are primarily the times you will see lots of new episodes and lots of big cliffhangers and stunts. Since December and January are not sweeps months, the stations tend to air reruns.

most shows during the Holiday season are re-runs because the actors go on vacation.but now new episode of shows should start.
