when i drive down the middle, i try to go for a finger roll and dont use the backboard.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE RIM AND DON'T CLOSE THEM.
USE THE BACKBOARD
DON'T WORRY ABOUT GETTING YOUR SHOT BLOCKED AND CONCENTRATE.

Chamberlain used to do go underneath the hoop and do lay ups on each side for minutes as a drill.

Also have somebody foul you as you take it to the rack. You will get used to all of the physical contact inside.

Don't always try to finger roll, from that close it is easier to just toss it off of the backboard.

Sounds like you are not looking at the backboard when shooting. I think you have the right technique, but are not concentrating at the last moment of where you are placing the ball on the backboard.
Pick a spot on the backboard and shoot the ball there.
Keep practicing and it will come....

keep doing them, another thing to do is go under the basket for 30 sec and shoot as many times as possible.. also u might want to look the formation maybe ur not doing it right also always hit the target (the orange box) jump hight too and jump when u hit the first slash mark
