I've been going to the toilet to do poo's quite frequently in the last few days. I heard and read that if you have a lot of movement in that area, that the baby is soon to be on its way. Is this true or is it just wishful thinking on my behalf?

Contractions can irritate the bowels and bring down the poop! Also, irritated bowels and frequent bowel movements can also bring on the contractions. (they used to give overdue moms caster oil to make her poop to start labour) IMO you're close to labour! Watch for any back pains that come rythmetically, even if they dont' feel like contractions you could be having back labour. Good luck!

True for me. I would softer, more frequent bowel movements as baby moved down farther and I got closer to labor. In the day before labor started it was very obvious.

I have heard the same thing. For me when I had my daughter I emptied myself out clean one evening and within an hour I started labor and 17 hours later she was born.

You never know, your body might be trying to tell you something. The baby could be in a position that places pressure on your colon.

Its probably just wishful thinking. the baby is just putting extra pressure on your bowels.

Take two Imodium the first time. Then one six hours later.
It helps most of the time.
If it did not help, then go to a walk-in clinic.
