I know this has been done before, but I'd really like to know people's reasons for believing what they do. So please: no one-word answers.

If you mean,"is there a creator of the universe," maybe.

I don't know. I'm not what one would call terribly "religious" in a traditional sense, but I am very spiritual.

I don't think that all the beauty before us is totally accidental or random.

We talk about "laws of physics." How could that be totally random?

If there were just chaos; you couldn't replicate the same experiment. Nothing would repeat.

I think there is some kind of incredible intelligence behind it all, but not in the sense that the "ultra-religious" think.

Pat Robertson believes that God talks to him.

Pat is nuts. Could I be wrong? Yes, but that's what I think.

I think that we are best "in tune" with the universe and creation when we show kindness and charity to others; the one's Jesus called,"the least of these."

That's the best I can do for now.......

My answer is no. I am an atheist but that doesn't necessarily mean that I've ruled out the possibility of a God; the form of a God I would even consider would be with regards to creation and since there are just as many explanations for creation out there that don't have to do with God as those that do, I've chosen to be atheist.

I like science; to me if you don't have numbers to prove what you're talking about, then it must not be worth hearing. Since science is now delving into the arcane questions of existence and the abyss of divinity, the numbers have shown some pretty remarkable things. Particularly Quantum Mechanics. If one stretches QM's interpretation to the limits, he/she can go so far as saying the Universe only exists where it is percieve and thus, we can change our perception of the Universe and diverge into different dimensions etc.

Pretty wild stuff but with regards to the existence of God, it offers the hope of possibility to believers. The ammount of the Universe that we've barely observed with our telescopes and radiowaves is a tiny bubble of awareness in contrast to the immensity of the unknown. Therefore there are infinite possibilites out there.

I for one just don't care.

Yes there is. I am a Christian and I fully beleive in one Almighty God. But, to look at it more intellectually...philosophy teaches you to work back from an even to figure out where it began. Ok, so you have man on earth....even if there was evelotion...the animal we evolved from came from somewhere. We came from monkey...ok, where did the monkeys come from? You take it down all the way back before the "big bang" to when two little atoms came together...where did they come from? Thin air? Everything has to come from somewhere. This isn't why I beleive but I'm just saying.....even if I was wrong in beleiving in God. What's the worst that could happen? I lived a good Christian life and tried to make some kind of difference in this world, no matter how small. I die and I found out that's it. Oh well...but if I did help even one person. If I changed the world at all...then I get immortality through that. :) Nothing wrong with that.

When I wake up in the morning and see the sun peeking over the horizon, and my rooster knows when to crow ... when I see the birth of a new litter of puppies and one isn't breathing, but starts breathing with my help and a prayer to God ... when I see the beauty of rich green pine needles against a clear blue sky ... when the wind blows and rains fall and grass grows ... when flowers bloom, whenI enjoy the nuzzle of my horse or a purr from my cat, when I pray hard for answers and solutions and God comes through for me every time, how could I not know there is a God/Creator/Great Spirit? Look around you at the miracles that happen every day and you will have a hard time explaining life if there is no God. Even if you believe in evolution, Someone had to star the ball rolling.

Well everything you look around which came into existence has a creator, or a manufacturer, or inventor.

I would like to give you simple logical explanation here.

Now if someone comes up and asks you who made cars or aeroplane, its preety obvious you would say the manufacturer.

If somebody comes up and say that he found a mobile on the desert of Arabia and no body created it. A mobile consists mainly of a

plastic body and some chip. Plastic is mainly product of Oil which is ample in Arabia and chip are made from Silica (sand) which again is

ample there. So if he says that some reaction took place and the silica and the oil combined to form a mobile would you buy that idea?

Atleast i wont.

Similarly if somebody ask me where did I come from, my answer would be my parents, they came from their parents and likewise we all

came from Adam and Eve. Now where did they come from? There has to be a creator who created the Adam and the Eve. Who

created the heavens and the earth and the moon. Everything cannot be perfect and fall into place perfectly. So their has be be a creator

who created everything around us. Now if you ask who created god?... Then my answer is that everything which came into existence was created by someone, and GOD pre-existed. He was not created. He created others. This is my answer to Does God Exists. I dont know which one will sound logic to you

I believe that there is something out there, that something had to create the logic of our universe, but whether that something takes the form of a human or animal or even nothing is unknown. I think that God can be defined as the creator of the universe. What if energy is considered to some as the creator of the universe? If that's the case, then there has to be a god.

With that said, you certainly don't have to be religious in any way to believe in god.

I pains me to see that everyone has got it all wrong!
well actually, who am i to say this?
the only way to discover a truth is if you go out and find it yourself.
Everyone has their misconceptions of the "God" but come on, think! Has anyone ever thought that it could be a metaphore?
Some people truly believe that God is some entity, some person or thing constantly watching over a single planet in the infinite universe.
God is everything
you are your own God
those plants in your yard are God
your friends pet dog is God
The essence of creation (as i like to say) exists in all of us

I philosophize about this all the time. If you begin with the presupposition that there is absolute truth, then you can start with the syllogism that a) there is a god or b) there is no god.

From this point, we can write a book, but let's keep it brief and personal. Of all the philosophies that exist, the one I keep coming back to after sampling is the evangelical Christian worldview. The short of it is this: I can't explain by reason of humanistic evolution why it is that I desire to believe in God. There is no reasonable environmental stimulus that would cause this kind of mutation to occur, and universally so.

One of the respondents noted that "No one has ever seen God," not fully, anyway. The Bible states this also. In the Gospel of John, chapter 1, it says "No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known."

Thank God we live in a country where we can openly discuss these ideas with each other.

Can you look at the night sky and doubt the exhistance of a creator? Check out Romans chapter 1 in the New Testament of the Bible. "Ever since the world was created it has been possible to see the qualities of God that are not seen. I'm talkiing about His eternal power and about the fact that He is God. Those things can be seen in what He has made. So people have no excuse for what they do." Romans 1:20

yes there has to be a god, people must beleive in something, i mean that is what this famous country is based upon, God. if we didn't hae god then the whole world would be overcomed by evl and darkness. People beleive in god and it is the foundation of this country (U.S.A) so there could be order amongst the people, i know what you are thinking "that's why we have laws" oh no you have that wrong god is the one who first created the laws and if their were no laws then their would be chaos. got it, get it, good. There is a god because there is order in the world and also because the ancient bible also talks about god himself. In the end it depends on you your self the person asking the question "do you beleive in god?" It is through faith that you will truly understand the meaning of life why god exists.
