During the summer months, you will find lifeguards on even numbered streets, or on the the more populated beaches, like 9th street beach. You can also find restrooms on 1st, 6th, 12, 34 and 58th street beaches as well as the Music Pier on Morrlyn Terrace. Bath houses or changes facilities are also available. Personally I found Ocean City, MD to be way over crowded for my taste, but then again I might be bias, I grew up in "Ameria's Greatest Family Resort"

When we went to Ocean City NJ, there were no bathrooms available. We had to go find a restaurant and have a meal to find a bathroom. On the way out of there, a "Wally Byamer" went by (it's a silver airstream trailer) andmy husband declared "Right! You have to bring your own bathroom with you when you go to the beach here." I don't remember seeing any lifeguards, but we were only there for 1 day and saw only a small section of the beach. Have you considered going to Ocean City Maryland instead? Lots of bathrooms and lifeguards there.
