Is there a website where I can post a picture of it and people can tell me what it is?

Hi Chris. Here're my suggestions :
1) snap a pic of your coin, preferably with the macro feature of your digicam turned on. Then upload it to "imageshack.us" website and post the image link to this question.
2) visit www.cointalk.org forum and post your coin pic there.
3) visit www.worldcoingallery.com and try to identify your coin from the gallery.
4) Update the info of your coin to this question, such as design description and inscriptions on it. From here, many people can try to identify your coin for you.

NO, you have to go hunt it down. Email me here at Yahoo and I will send you my personal email address and you can send me a scan. The higher the quality scan the better. I can usually tell what it is, but don't have 100%. For some areas, I have no books. If a coin, I do alright from 1600-2000.

I would say to just take it to a local coin dealer, and see what they have to say. You can't rely on anthing that someone might tell you on a website
