Has anyone ever been on a cruise to Nassau Bahamas? If so what is there to do when I arrive? Also how small are the interior state rooms? I am going on a cruise with my job and initially I was in a room by myself so I was loving that, now they put a roommate with me from another office and I am wondering how small the quarters are that I am going to have to share with a person I do not know. Just curious. Thanks ahead of time for the info.

Funny, the exact same thing happened to me about 12 years ago. My work sent us on a Carnival ship for a 4 day cruise to Bahamas. I roomed with a stranger from another office. Room was very small, like a child's bedroom. Not much privacy. My roomate was very nice but much older than me. It was tricky because she went to bed much earlier. Nassau was fun though and I didn't spend much time in the room except for sleeping. Hint: Try to build up your immune system before you go. Take vitamins and get extra sleep. For some reason most of the women in our group (about 25 women) got sick when we returned home. It could have been the plane or the boat, but we all got a serious case of influenza.

I went to Nassau a few years ago. When you get off the ship, you are guided through a swarm of people and shops. Once you get through that, you're alright. When I went, we hit the market to buy souveneirs, then to a public beach, and later we went to Senor Frogs. It was a really nice time, but since we were only there for maybe 8 hours, I felt a little rushed. There are lots of things to do on the island though. Some friends went to swim with dolphins, others went snorkeling (excursions that were booked on the ship). All touristy things like that. What cruiseline are you going on? We went on a carnival cruse and our interior room was a little tight, but I didn't mind because my roommate was my boyfriend. It might be a little cramped for you and a coworker. The bathrooms are really tiny. But you aren't in your room too much, so I bet it won't bother you. Well good luck, and have fun!!

Oh ps: Here's an item that you should bring if you're in an interior room with no window... A light up portable alarm clock or watch. Since there's no window in your room, and no clock (I don't know why cruise ships do that) you will wake up and not know what time it is. I can not count how many times I had to get up and go into the bathroom, turn on the light, and look at my watch. A little light up clock would have been so helpful! :)

I went on a cruise to the Bahamas for my honeymoon. We were really rushed so we didn't do much except walk around and site see. Before you get to Nassau get info from your cruise line about any tour(s) you want to take and get off the ship right away, as time is already wasting (if your ship is just docked for the day). Lots of people rent scooters but I don't know if it is worth it because traffic is really jammed in Nassau. I would recommend going to Atlantis, it is really beautiful, but you can't get into the private grounds unless you have paid for a tour.
As for the interior rooms, go online and get a diagram of the ship you are going to be on. The rooms are very small, and it is probably going to be uncomfortable with a coworker (sorry) We paid for a midpriced room and it was good, but we were also newlyweds. It will be different with a person you don't know very well.

The rooms are an average size bedroom. But you will have to remember that you will be sleeping, dressing and bathing in there. The one I was on had a very small bathroom. You will probably get to know that other person alot better after it is all over with. The best place to go is St.Johns beach if it is possible. I have never seen another one as pretty as that one. I have been on two cruises and I would love to go back to the Bahamas.

I went on the Carnival Valor ship. It stopped in the Bahamas on the second day. We stayed from 7-2. The rooms were bigger then i was expecting, but you don't spend alot of time in them anyways so it shouldn't be a large deal.
