Make a common denominator using the least common multiple!
So 6 factors are 3 ,2 and 3 factors are 1, 3
so 3*2 = 6 which is the common factor!!
1/ 6 + 2/3
1/6 + 4/6
5/6 :-)

5/6
You can not add fractions until they have common denomonators ( bottom numbers) and anything you do to one side of a fraction you must do to the other... so... 1/6 and 2/3 you find the least common multiple, which is 6... 6x1 is 6 1x1 is 1 so 1/6 stays the same. 2/3 needs to multiplied by 2 3x2=6 2x2=4 so it becomes 4/6
1/6+4/6 is 5/6

Five sixths.
The LCD (lowest common denominator) is 1/18 (6x3)
so there are three of those in 1/6 and twelve of them in 2/3 making a total of 15/18 which is 5/6.
