speak up about what? i think he's said plenty in the past 6 years.. not all of it has been very logical.. but he's been very vocal about it.

Yes the "Dems" listen, they just don't believe the phony drival that passes for policy statements from the Whitehouse.

To be fair and believe me I am being very fair here, he is being gracious and allowing the Democrats their speeches and ceremonies etc while he stays quietly and politely in the background like a gentleman.
