both rams work in 1st dimm port but dont work in paralell. both have identical specs. HELP please!!

Could be that you need to flash the bios. The best suggestion I can give is for you to visit the manufacturers support page.

check the second dimm port for dust it may be that simple. are you sure your computer can take the extra ram? you may be able to just get a single 512 ram to put in the first dimm that way you don't have to get a new board if the second dimm slot is bad

You said you trid to install 256 RAM and only 256 is visible so whats the problem?

hi had the same prob the stick ant seated properly take the sharp edges of especialy if it dosent just drop in " be very care full" when doing this, personaly i whould put a 512 in for the price diffarence

is the memory the same speed? and type pc133 sdram will not run with pc 2400 ddr ( this is just an example ) the memory needs to be the same type and speed
