The meaning of this song has to do with the rise of the prevalence of the monitoring of the populace.
If you look at the lyrics...
"Your lives are open wide,
The V-chip gives them sight,
All the life running through her hair,"
It talks openly about new technologies that seek to limit our access to information. The "spiders" can be seen as a metaphor for the people and programs that movie along the webs of our communication monitoring what we do.
This song is a warning about the dangers of allowing our lives to be open to the spiders. In a live performance of the song on Conan O'Brian, Serj yells "AMERICA, AWAKE!" right before the instrumental interlude.

System of a Down gives me a bigger headache. but their guitarist Daron Malakian has potential to sing and play guitar. SOAD would be better if they got rid of their lead singer. And replaced him with Daron or some dude. xD Edit: Slipknot is alright..they're really overrated though..
