if there is no trust, perhaps its time to call it a day. Treat yourself to a holiday with the money you save yourself by not paying for a private detective.

If you do it and you find nothing, you had better take the whole thing to your grave, because if she finds out you did that she will be so hurt that you didn't trust her.
My father's wife actually did this job. I think the cost was about $50 an hour but it piles up FAST.
By the way, she did it for like 10 years. Here are some neat stats from here experience, best I can remember:
75% of clients were male.
About 50% of women were correct in their suspicions.
Almost 100% of men were correct in their suspicions.
When women were wrong, they were usually lied to about where he was, but it was just as often hiding hanging out with people she didn't like, drinking, or just farting around.
Men, on the other hand, were nearly always correct.
Interesting. Keep in mind this is a cross section of her clientele, not the general populace.

Yes, I hired someone to follow an ex. It was well worth it when considering I could never catch him cheating on me. Do it if you care a great deal for the person and you strongly suspect they are cheating on you. There will be no room left for them to lie to you anymore. If nothing is wrong, you don't have to tell them you did it.

Nope, but i don't think it's a bad idea if you truly think she's cheating. If she is, finding out the truth is worth the cost. If not, atleast you'll have peace of mind.

Surely this can only lead to more hurt and mistrust? Why not just confront the spouse if you have suspicions?

Never worth it...don't go ahead unless you're prepared for what you might find out.
