You mean that thought and consciousness resides with the body and not the brain, which is what doctors and scientists believe now.
Interesting then, that there have been some reports in the newspapers recently of people who have had organ transplants and have then taken on the characteristics of the person they received the organ from.
if this is true, then it indicates that the consciousness and characteristics of a person may be embedded at the genetic level in every living cell of your body and not just the brain.

It is not possible to have a brain transplant. The nerves that would have to be cut while removing each brain could not be sown together with nerves from a new body. While the brain might still be alive, it would be incapable of controling even the most basic bodily functions, such as breathing and heart beats.

If the person was the same when they woke up then we could only assume that the brain does not create all thoughts and feelings. Although, if you did wake up a different person, what would really be the point - you would not recognise yourself and neither would any of your loved ones.

i think what he means is if you had the same actions memorys ect that u did before the transplant did it work.
i say if that was even possable(to have a transplant of that type) if you had the same memorys ect that the brain is useless cause your personality ect is in your soal not your brain the brain just controles body funtcion your soal is who you are as a being

Well if someone woke up with someone elses brain it is unlikely they will be the same person since all our memories, expereinces, etc are stored in the brain! So i think you would probably wake up with someone elses memories and experiences! interesting question though!!

well think about this, you are your brain only, everything you do, remember or think is done by your brain. What do you think you are? the muscle tissuse, or skeleton that lets you physically move?
