There is a lot of information available on the internet. A Yahoo search for "growing broccoli" (include the quotation marks in the Yahoo search box) yields 17,800 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find lots of useful and interesting information.

Good luck with your gardening.

- Is there a reason to be insulting to Princess adding her thoughts here. I Like to be healthy and agree with no chemicals in the garden, but if a few chemicals in Princess's garden keeps a person nice and your organic garden make you a bit aggressive, well..... I think I will eat from Princess's garden.

There are many people who are not aware of chemical dangers around us or products pushed our way. And let's not forget the 3000 plus chemicals / additives in foods "approved" or "allowed" by the FDA. With this kind of smoke screen it is not a surprise that many people accept many chemicals used in gardens as being okay.

Instead of putting someone down, why not just enlighten people instead of insulting - they are more likely to listen.

By the way, feb/march for most people in the USA and Canada is way to early. Many gardeners can't plant until late April/May in most areas. The site below also has an extensive table of frost dates for all of the USA and Canada which can be used to determine the best time to plant. Of course transplants can be started indoors or in a coldframe / greenhouse earlier.

Broccoli is sold in plants just like cabbage or cauliflower. You plant the plants about 6 inches apart because the do get large. You need to fertilize them with miracle gro and dust them with a disease and insect fighting dust that won't harm the plant of you. We use Sevin Dust. Then just start to let them grow. Fresh broccoli is the best.

brocolli takes a while to grow so you have to start it early -- like late feb/early march. i wouldn't listen to that nut above me -- do NOT put Miracle Grow or Sevin dust on something you plan on eating...if you have a bug problem, there are more organic solutions than toxins left over from the cold war - plants take these things in from the soil and it is incorporated into their tissues -- you want to eat that stuff??? why don't we sprinkle a little anthrax on our salad while we're at it!?! use compost instead of miracle grow. they'll be fine. brocolli doesn't mind a warm climate, either, it's not lettuce or spinach

Cool moist climate is best for Broccoli. Make sure to water from the bottom when the seedlings are very small to avoid breaking the plant. Do not over-water. Likes full sun.
