This is by far, my BIGGEST FLAW!!! I just graduated from college, I'm taking a year off, and I'll be starting law school in August. I think I'm a smart girl, and my grades are pretty good. But, I am absolutely positive that if I didn't procrastinate so much, I would be getting nearly all A's in my classes!!! I do my work, but never as early and as much as I had planned to do. Then I somehow always end up being on the border of an A and B, and I'm typically given the B. Also, keep in mind that I worked about 20-25 hours/week during college and even now, so this take some of my time and makes me a bit tired when I wanna actually study.

Someone, please help!!! Get this...I procrastinate sooo much, that I post-poned my LSAT twice, and when I did take it, my score was low. Now I'm studying again to re-take it! I can't go through law school by doing the same thing.

I beg of you.......PLEASE HELP!!!

What is it that you use to procrastinate?

I use the internet to procrastinate. And I haven't really stopped, but today I'm using it less because:

I spent a week on the net none stop and now I am bored of it.

Also, this novel I am reading is more interesting at the moment.

I have concluded that you need to enjoy something else to stop procrastinating. Preferably, make the task you need to do enjoyable. You can do this by studying with a friend or ... sewing... cake into your homework... Hehe, I don't know.

I can't help but get on the computer... It's a habit and I don't necessarily want to break it. So I give myself what I want to do on the net and do it and then get off.

I also do this. While I am procrastinating I say "WHY am I procrastinating? WHY?"
"Because I am afraid to do the work."
"WHY?"
"I don't know."
"What happens if I get up and start doing it right now?"
"It will be... done..."
"So let's do it!"

People procrastinate for lots of reasons but by far the number one reason is fear. It may help if you can figure out what you may be afraid of. Fear of failure? Fear of success? Fear of responsibility? This part you'll have to do yourself but I'll tell you now, the reality is never as terrible as our fears of it are.

Use this year off to study for the LSAT and prepare yourself for first year law. Law school is tough but if you believe you have the smarts and if you know you have the commitment, you can do this.

You really do have to commit to setting aside, say, three to four hours a day for study. Decide on the times - 1pm to 3 pm, 1pm to 4pm or whenever it seems reasonable and practical. If you know someone else who is prepping for LSATs, this can be helpful if you team up and work together. Get your family involved in helping you.

A legal career, as with any career, will not tolerate procrastination. Remember, this is your chosen field, the rest of your life and you can't put it off. I believe that once you can get into the habit of "taking care of business" promptly, you will overcome your fear, whatever it happens to be.

Get up early in the morning. You'd be surprised how much you can get done in the morning.
Make lists for everything, that will help you stay on track and keep from things slipping your mind.
If you get an assignment work on it the moment you get home. This way you'll have most if it done early and also you get ask questions that come up that you would not have been able to ask because you did the assignment the night before. Also, having most of it done early will allow you to perfect it by going over it a few times before submitting it.

First step admit that you procastinate, then schedule for all that you'll do for each day, and stay ORGANIZED. Thats all you need.
