Bleach, good ole' fashioned liquid bleach, let it soak and it will kill the black stuff. ( mold and mildew) then seal the grout. If that doesn't work you can cut the old grout out with a utility knife and re-grout it. Siliconized acrylic caulk should be used between the tub and tile and in the corners of tiled walls. grout always cracks in these places and allows water to penetrate leading to mold/mildew! hope this helps good luck

If something like pure bleach applied to the grout doesn't work, you may have to remove the grout and reapply new. It's not all that difficult from a technical standpoint to do this, but it is a bit time consuming. There are grout removal tools sold in Lowes, Home Depot, etc. If you apply straight bleach, do it with a sponge, wearing rubber gloves, and make sure you don't breath the fumes too much. Open windows, doors, put your exhaust fan on, and leave the room every few minutes to get fresh air.
If you do re-grout the tile, make sure you apply a waterproofing sealer to the new grout after it has dried... follow the instructions on the bottle. Do this at least once a year, maybe twice.

First, you need to get to the root of the problem, you have no ventilation in the shower. Go to Home Depot and buy a air circulator, they have ones with lights in them also, easy to install. Second, you'll have to remove at least the top layer of the grout and re grout. In the tile department, at Lowes or Home Depot, they sell a grout saw, it's small and easy to use. Don't forget to seal you're new grout. I think the easiest way to do this is to pour the sealer in an old fashioned mustard bottle, they kind that you squeeze, saturate the grout with sealer, do not wipe off the excess.

Speak to your landlord/apartment manager about this matter. The tiles may need to be re grouted in order to keep mold from growing in between the tiles. A pro would need to do the job, unless you know exactly how to do it. Since you're a renter, you have the right to have the problem corrected by your landlord/manager or a professional.

Do not use bleach on grout. It will eat it away. If Tilex mildew doesn't work, go to a hardware store like Home Depot and get grout cleaner. Once you get it clean, get a grout sealer so this will not happen again.

muriatic acid (commercial strength) is the best. it eats up the lime and mold sediments on the tile and in between the tile( grout ).just pour (or spray) unto the area desired and leave it for a while. then brush and rinse. don't forget to wear rubber gloves, goggles and mask. remember it is acid.

Try Clorox bleach gel pens. They put concentrated bleach right on the grout. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes and then spray it with water.

If you use straight bleach and spray it on, and leave it for about 2 hours, the mold will go away. (just do this with a window open).
Good luck.

You might have to scrape out the old grout and redo it or use caulk.

Get a pumus stone, this is often used to scrub people feet. It works great, and if you have rust in your toliet, it takes it right off, it doesnt scratch the surface, it comes right off. I swear by it.
