I think if anyone was worthy of being impeached it would be this lying false Christian who has done so much damage to this otherwise great country of ours!

Because the Democratic POLITICIANS have sense enough to know that he hasn't done anything worthy of getting impeached.

I'm Canadian, and so obviously not the biggest fan of George W. But even still I can understand why they wouldn't want to impeach.

To impeach a president in the U.S. is a difficult thing for the people to deal with. Even if they didn't like him, the office of the Presidency is still held as a very sacred institution to most of the American people, whether they are aware of it or not. If George W. is left to finish his last term in office, he'll then probably (more or less) fade from the mind of the American people as history passes. Unless he were to become some great humanitarian or something worth rwemembering (or unless he makes one HUGE screw-up in office or immediately out of office). Otherwise most U.S. Presidents are more or less ignored once out of office (either that or they're the butt of many jokes, you descide which is worse).

If they should impeach him however it does a great deal of damage to Americans ... spirit? morale? trust? Take your pick. It says on various levels that

1) America elected the wrong guy (I know all the allegations of vote tampering, but it still has to be kinda close for that to be really effective)

2) They elected him twice.

3) That so many American's DID support him. (I know American's who don't support Bush, but if I critisize him they defend him because he's their President)

Ultimately it calls into question so much ofthe United States that it will leave scars for a long time. A country that has waved a democracy flag (pardon me) in the faces of every Communist country REMOVING their DEMOCRATICALLY elected leader?? This says democracy failed. Plus a lot of the American people would have to admit they were wrong, pardon me but not something that some Americans are very good at.

So it's better for the nation to leave him there, try to keep him in check and just ride out the last couple years.

Because no one wants Dick.
But if Bush keeps sending troops to Iraq a failed war, that has turned into a giant civil war, then the people of the country will start asking their Representatives to Impeach both of them. Nancy would do better, in fact anyone with an education could do better than who we have now.

Just wait. The Democrats are now in a position to call Bush and his people in front of hearings and have them investigated and testify under oath, unlike before when Republicans ran the committees. Believe it, heads will roll.

Let the proceedings begin!

We will now hear they never intended impeachment. They will be working on what is good for the American people. Impeachment would take time out of their agenda. They are now going to say they will lead him the right direction. What a bunch of assclowns! It always comes down to the next election. They know that they would pay for it in the next election, for wasting time and money on bogus charges!

Better to accomplish some positive legislation before the 2008 presidential elections, trying impeach bush at this late date is not going to help the democrats imo

EDIT: Crazyhorse, why don't you realize that both parties do the same thing?

To be fair, they never promised that they would impeach him. Although one would know that with the wire-tapping program, destruction of the Habeas Corpus, and lying about the war situation on many occasions, he should be impeached shouldn't he? I believe instead we need to push him in the right direction for a change of pace.

The Democratic party simply realizes there is no basis for an impeachment. I figure they have at least a little bit of brains to not go ahead with any sort of proceedings.

A lot of them have been castrated.
What I meant to say is a lot of them are afraid of being 'seen' as being anti-war. In America, anti-war means weak.
