I favor sending more troops if they are used in the proper way. We need enough troops in the country to properly patrol the borders and intercept insurgents and supplies. We also need to be able to continue training Iraqi troops who should handle the internal security of the country. Without support from external sources the insurgency and secretarian violence in the country will decrease and help the situation to stabilize in a more timely fashion.

100 iraqi civilians die each day from sectarian violence.
media reports suggest that most of the 3,000 american casualties come from road side bombs or snipers, which would lead one to assume that our troops are dieing without puting up a fight.
in many peoples minds there is simply not enough troops to combat the civil striffe. adding 20 or 40 thousand more isn't going to help much either. for any kind of serious assualt on armed militas we need a force that is hundreds of thousands more troops. otherwise they are just siting ducks. and if they are just sitting ducks observing a bloody civil war, then what the hell are they doing there.

Why is it a either or question? why not send more troops there so the Iraqis cant speed up the process to defend themselves so to me this could be a win win decision.

there is no incentive for them to take care of themselves; they should have outed every terrorist so they could begin to have a life without daily bombings; guess it is similar to why the Jews didn't resist first opposition by the Germans; guess won't ever understand it until we walk in their shoes; and if lucky and blessed hopefully we won't know that awful feeling

their troops are not properly trained. I think we should send more troops and if nothing satisfactory goes our way, then we need to pull out seriously.
