If you are genuinely in love I think that solves your problem. Remember that boyfriends will come and go but Friends they last forever. Explain to her that you are not trying to disrespect her in anyway. (I assume you told her about your feelings for him & asked her opinion on it before you two started dating...?) Tell her you love her and you respect her and hold your friendship at a very high level. She should understand that eventhough things didn't work out with them... you two are happy. Eventually she will be happy for you as well. But be patient because she is probably still upset & maybe even heart broken by the situation.

If it were my case I think that u should speak to ur best friend. If she values ur friendship she should understand that the past already happened and u cant change that but u are now living in the present. If he wants to be with u and ur madly in love with him then give it a try. Cause im sure that if ur friend were to be in a relationship with someone from ur past and now she was in love with him then as real friends u would understand. love does not come often but friends come and go. And there's friends that will even backstab u when it comes to love. Your friend should understand ur situation so u should just talk to her about it.

Usually there is a rule. You never date your best friends ex. This is the reason why. If you have told her how you feel about him and she can put her feelings aside then you should stay with him. It's going to take time but she will get over him.

i think that's messed up. what's going on? I think you should ignore the situation. How are you certain he is the love of your life. If you go through all that drama dating him and you figure out he was the wrong guy for you. Talk your friend. See how she feels. Don't be so selfish.

I would choose the love of my life and my best friend. They are both the same.

Make yourself happy, while holding on to at least some integrity. Having said that, I find it sad that women can't seem to put sisterhood ahead of "love", which can be fleeting.

Perhaps time will help your friend feel more comfy with the two of you. It's a hard position to be, so give her time and space.

The love of my life should be my best friend ... and no one comes between. It's that simple.

Yourself, in this world, you can only be responsible for one persons happiness, and that is yourself.
Try not to include the guy in your activities and try not to talk about him around her, it may hurt her. Wait till she has a new BF to bring him around or talk about it...
